The Pittsburgh Pirates City Connect jersey schedule was revealed on Thursday, along with the threads themselves. Here's everything we know.

Unfortunately, the Buccos hot start has fallen upon hard times, as the Pirates now find themselves under the .500 mark. But, it's a long season, and this late-June day should be a high point.

Pittsburgh along with Nike unveiled their new City Connect jerseys, featuring black and gold lettering, along with hats to match. While the initial leaks weren't encouraging, it's safe to say the Pirates pull this off.

Andrew McCutchen, for one, looks born to wear these.

When will Pirates wear their City Connect jerseys?

The Pirates will wear their City Connect jerseys on Friday, June 27 at home in Pittsburgh. From then on, the complete schedule has been revealed on the Bucs website. In a press release by the team, team president Travis Williams boasted about the jerseys and their representation of all things Pittsburgh.

"We believe this uniform collaboration with Nike represents what being from Pittsburgh is all about," said Williams. "From a distance, a Pittsburgher is strong, sturdy, quiet, friendly and never showy or overstated. However, get to know someone from the city, and you learn that there's more to them than meets the eye, but you would never guess until you get close to them."

These jerseys are meant to pay homage to old Pittsburgh — one focused on industrialism and the steel industry — while also acknowledging its present and future.

"We're also focused on evolving from an industrial economy to one focused on technology, education, and healthcare; there's a true evolution happening in the city. Google has an office here; robotics is a huge part of the innovation you're seeing in the economy and how we're evolving as a city. We wanted the uniform to be like a visual representation of that transformation," Pirates executive vice president Stephen Perkins said.

How often Pittsburgh wear their jerseys may depend on how they play with them on. Just ask the Boston Red Sox — these can become a theme.
