San Diego Padres left-handed pitcher Blake Snell gets to face his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, and he's been one of the hotter pitchers in all of baseball.

Snell (2-6, 3.78 ERA) has been great since the start of May, posting a 2.93 ERA in eight starts.

He takes on Rays starter Zach Eflin (8-2, 3.28 ERA) in this matchup, and the righty has been solid for Tampa Bay since signing in the offseason.

San Diego has largely been a disappointment this season, but can it turn things around at home on Saturday?

Here are the latest odds and my best bet:

Rays vs. Padres odds, run line and total

Rays vs. Padres prediction and pick

The Rays have the best OPS in all of baseball this season, but I think this game is a spot to take the UNDER with how well Snell has pitched lately.

The former Cy Young Award winner has allowed two or fewer runs in six of his last seven starts, lowering his ERA from 5.28 at the beginning of the month of May all the way down to 3.78.

Eflin has been impressive as well, posting a Fielding Independent Pitching below his ERA.

The other reason I like the UNDER resides with the bullpens.

San Diego ranks fourth in MLB in bullpen ERA this season, and while the Rays haven't been great, they still have a respectable 4.01 team bullpen ERA.

San Diego's offense (16th in OPS) has also been a bit underwhelming in 2023. Expect more of a pitcher's duel in this matchup.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
