Seth Meyers takes a closer at Trump facing new legal developments in three separate cases across the country

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: 'Late Night With Seth Meyers' remains focused on the ongoing legal challenges of former President Donald Trump, as host Seth Meyers consistently addresses one "breaking news" development after another.

Meyers highlighted how former associates of Trump, who once reveled in his influence, are now shifting their allegiances to safeguard themselves amidst the escalating legal challenges faced by the former president.

Meyers calls Trump 'the example' for his associates

Meyers started the 'A Close Look' segement of the show saying, "One thing I've never been able to understand about Trump World is how all these guys handle the pressure of being in so much legal trouble all the time".

He continued, "Take Trump, for example. I don't know why I said, 'for example'. He's 'the example'. He's got four different criminal cases, four examples and a civil fraud trial."

"Well, this week there have been three major developments in three separate Trump cases".

For context, the civil fraud trial originates from a legal action initiated by New York's attorney general, Letitia James, as per The New York Times.

The lawsuit alleges Trump, along with other defendants such as his companies and his sons, Donald Jr and Eric, engaged in fraudulent practices by artificially inflating the value of assets to secure advantageous loans and insurance arrangements.

Allen H Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, has acknowledged his involvement in certain manipulations of Trump's assets during the proceedings.

Meyers further stated to give a clearer picture, "His former fixer testified against him in New York. Another one of his lawyers flipped on him in Georgia, and we found out his former chief of staff testified to the special counsel in DC."

Trump caught shoplifting an 'Us Weekly out of a Piggly Wiggly'

After showcasing a series of real-time breaking news on Donald Trump, Meyers read out a made-up news saying, "Breaking news out of Sheboygan, where Donald Trump has just been caught shoplifting, an Us Weekly out of a Piggly Wiggly".

Meyers went on to do a Donald Trump-impression of a fictional situation where Trump would have defended himself saying, "If I'm guilty of anything, it's wanting to catch up on the latest with Taylor and Travis".

The 'Closer Look' segment has hit the right notes with 'Late Night' fans with one saying, "I don't think I could have lived through today's Speaker debacle without Closer Look!".

One follower complimented Meyer's Trump impersonation saying, "Seth your djt impersonation is the greatest. The nincompoop dadaist donny t lunatic rambling your writers create is sooooooooo spot on! It’s all just magic. Many THANKS! So great to have U all back in our worlds!".

Another took a dig at Trump saying, "This is what happens when we let criminals run free with politics after committing treason".
