NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Lovebirds Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were seen holding hands on Tuesday, May 23, resting many doubts over their reconciliation. The pair went on a walk together in New York City and the ‘Stitches’ singer got himself a cup of coffee. Mendes wore a gray tank top, light-wash jeans, and white sneakers, flaunting his biceps and tattoos.
Meanwhile, Cabello sported a black leather jacket over a cropped white shirt, loose-fitting denim pants, and black shoes. The couple was earlier seen together at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, recorded making out by fans. As per a Page Six report last month, Mendes and Cabello were simply ‘friends with a lot of love and history between them,’ and ‘not back together.’

'Very casual at this point'
The second source of the outlet claimed the celebrity couple was “enjoying getting reacquainted and seeing where it goes.” Another source added, "They knew they were both going to Coachella and had plans to meet up and hang out." The source continued, "Shawn and Camila had been in touch the last few weeks and have cleared the air about the breakup. There is still a connection between them and both of them shared they still care about one another. It's very casual at this point."
'Yet to acknowledge their reunion'
Since then the two were seen together on numerous occasions, including a comedy show and at Mendes’ Los Angeles home. The ’Havana’ singer released a song ‘June Gloom’ on Instagram teasing fans with lyrics many calls inspired by her on-again romantic partner: “Are you coming to Coachella? / If you don’t, it’s whatever / If you do, honey, it’ll be all I think about.” Interestingly, none of the stars have directly acknowledged their relationship status. Both Grammy nominees dated back between July and November 2021.
After breaking up earlier, the two released a statement promising that they “continue to be best friends” whose “love for one another as humans [was] stronger than ever.”
