'It has connected more fans of Taylor’s and more fans of the NFL in some ways,' said Roger Goodell

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has publicly welcomed the romance between Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift, despite some backlash from football fans.

The online community seems to agree with Goodell's stance, pointing out that Swift's involvement doesn't negatively impact "ticket sales."

What did Roger Goodell think about 'Traylor' romance?

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell believes that the attention garnered by the relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce is beneficial for the Kansas City Chiefs and the league as a whole.

In an interview with CBS Mornings on Wednesday, Goodell expressed his views on how the couple’s relationship has influenced broadcast viewership and sparked interest in the league, particularly among Swift’s fan base.

In addition to this, he also discussed the league’s previously announced plans for expansion into Spain and Brazil. He shared his perspective on sports betting by NFL league players and employees and elaborated on the league’s strategies for player protection in the physically demanding sport.

Goodell praised the Grammy-winning artist as "unbelievable," and similarly lauded Kelce as an "unbelievable player."

"Listen, they’re happy. They seem to be enjoying their relationship. That’s great in and of itself," Goodell stated. "But it has connected more fans of Taylor’s and more fans of the NFL in some ways."

Goodell further said, "To see that they have a connection, now they have a connection to our game and to Taylor…I think it’s great for the league to have that kind of attention. So we welcome it."
