The Chicago Sky head to Indiana to take on the Fever in Commissioner's Cup action on Sunday.
The Sky are fresh off back-to-back wins at home against the Sky while the Fever have dropped four of five since beating the Sky in Chicago on June 15th. Indiana has struggled all season on the defensive end, will the team get back on track against Chicago?
Here are the odds and our best bet:
Sky vs. Fever odds, spread and total
Sky vs. Fever prediction and pick
It's tough to trust a team with one of the three worst defenses in the WNBA this season to get the job done as favorites, and that's what we have with the Fever, who allow more than 106 points per 100 possessions. Indiana also checks in last in assist percentage as the team opts to play a more isolation style of basketball.
That leads to ineffective results typically, evident in the teams 5-10 record. They host the Sky on Sunday, who are 7-9 on the year but are the more effective offense (48.9% effective field goal percentage) compared to the Fever (47.9%).
While Indiana is home and notched a win over Chicago already this season, I can't back them to cover a home spread by more than a bucket. Indiana has been favored in three games this season and is only 1-2 against the spread (ATS) and 2-3 ATS at home.
I'll take the more reliable team in the Sky to keep this close on the road.
