Tennessee already found an exciting quarterback and impressive wide receiver duo for the class of 2024. Now they've added a running back to the mix.

On Saturday, four-star running back Peyton Lewis announced his commitment to the Volunteers via Hayes Fawcett of On3.

The dual-sport football and track star chose Tennessee over five other finalists including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Penn State and South Carolina.

Lewis is scheduled to officially visit Knoxville in June but he didn't need to wait that long to go all-in with his commitment.

What is Tennessee football getting in Peyton Lewis?

At 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, the Salem, Va. product ranks No. 215 in the 247Sports composite. He is No. 15 among running backs and the third-best prospect in the state of Virginia.

Brian Dohn of 247Sports described him as "one cut, downhill runner" who "hits [the] hole with purpose and speed." That same assessment asserted that Lewis could "play early at a Top 20 program."

The Volunteers expect to be led again this year by junior Jaylen Wright, who had 875 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2022, and senior Jabari Small, who wasn't far behind with 734 yards and 13 touchdowns. However that duo will be moving on sooner than later.

Dylan Sampson, a three-star 2022 commit, had 397 yards as a freshman but four-star Justin Williams-Thomas from the same class has already hit the transfer portal in favor of Cal.

Meanwhile, the class of 2023 brought a couple more running backs into the fold including three-stars Khalifa Keith and DeSean Bishop.

Given the layout of the roster moving forward, Lewis could have a chance to work his way into early playing time in 2024.
