The Chronicle of Higher Education’s Virtual Chronicle Festival to be Held August 29-31, 2023

Is a college education still worth it? How can colleges embrace new partnerships and fresh approaches, put students at the center, and truly deliver on the value of a college degree? With currently more than 18 million undergraduate and graduate students at 3,900 colleges across the U.S., the college of the future must adapt to a radically changing higher-education and societal landscape. The 2023 Chronicle Festival will engage thousands of senior administrators and faculty leaders in discussions with speakers about what students, the public, and other stakeholders really want from higher education.

Now in its third year, the Chronicle Festival will explore the issues that will shape the college of the future, with insights from college leaders, national opinion makers, and other experts. The festival will promote big-picture ideas to help attendees kick off the academic year and inspire them to reach for greater heights at a crucial moment in higher ed.

Khalil Gibran Muhammad
Ford Foundation Professor of History, Race, and Public Policy, Harvard Kennedy School

Khalil Gibran Muhammad’s scholarship examines the broad intersections of racism, economic inequality, criminal justice, and democracy in U.S. history. At Harvard he directs the Institutional Antiracism and Accountability Project.
