A member of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces has been arrested over a shooting at a training facility that left three other service members injured, the government’s top spokesman said.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said the incident occurred on Wednesday at a shooting range in central Japan’s Gifu prefecture and that no other details were available. Public broadcaster NHK said the apprehended suspect was in his teens and that at least one of the victims was in critical condition.
