The PGA Tour heads to Cromwell, Connecticut for the final elevated event on the 2023 schedule, the Travelers Championship.

The event has been around since 1952, and while the course has gone under changes throughout the years, it's always been held at what is now called TPC River Highlands. That means we have a ton of history to base our predictions off of.

If you want to find out the odds to win this week's event, as well as my best bets, you can read my betting preview here.

In this article, I'm going to try to predict the winning score this week, as well as the final score for the top 10 golfers on the odds list.

Let's dive into it.

Travelers Championship score predictions

Winning score: -18

In two of the last five editions of this event, the winning score was -19. In another two of the last five, the winning score was -17. So, we're going to ignore the outlier year (2021) in which the winning score was -13, and split the difference between -19 and -17.

Yes, it's that easy. We have enough history at this course to know the winning score is likely going to be in the high teens. 18-under par is as good of a guess as any in that range.

Scottie Scheffler score prediction: -15

Scottie Scheffler finishing in the top 5 has been near automatic this season. He (somehow) only has two wins to his name in 2023, largely due to subpar putting, but his ball striking is once again going to have him in contention on Sunday.

Rory McIlroy score prediction: -12

Rory McIlroy's game is trending in the right direction, but he usually tends to struggle at birdie fest events, which the Travelers Championship certainly is. He'll be hanging around the top of the leaderboard, but too many bogeys will cost him down the stretch.

Jon Rahm score prediction: -13

Jon Rahm has been relatively quiet by his standards in recent events. He's too good to miss the cut or be way down the leaderboard, but I don't expect a top five finish from him at TPC River Highlands.

Patrick Cantlay score prediction: -12

Oddsmakers love Patrick Cantlay this week, but I just can't get there with him. Sure, he'll probably finish in the top 20, but I don't think anyone will consider him a threat when the leaders tee off in the final round.

Xander Schauffele score prediction: -18

My pick to win this week is last year's tournament winner, Xander Schauffele, so of course I think he'll have the winning score of -18. He won last year's edition of the event at 19-under par. His strong mid-iron game is what should once again catapult him to the top this week.

Viktor Hovland score prediction: -15

Viktor Hovland's performance at the U.S. Open was concerning, as he wasn't in contention the entire week. With that being said, I expect a bit of a bounce back performance from him this week. He needs to keep the ball in the fairway if he wants to get his second win in three events.

Collin Morikawa score prediction: -16

Collin Morikawa's ball striking continues to be amongst the best on the PGA Tour, but his putting has let him down for the majority of the season. But, he has gained strokes putting in two straight events and is poised to be in contention on a Sunday for the first time in a while.

Matt Fitzpatrick score prediction: -5

I still don't fully trust Matt Fitzpatrick this season. Despite winning the RBC Heritage, his iron game isn't as good as it was last year and he seems to have one bad round each tournament. I'm sure he'll make the cut, but I'd stay far away from betting on him.

Tony Finau score prediction: -8

Tony Finau has been consistent in both making cuts but also being a nonfactor in tournaments on the weekend. I expect more of the same from him at the Travelers Championship.

Rickie Fowler score prediction: -6

Rickie Fowler is coming off an emotional let down of a Sunday at the U.S. Open. He's been a top 20 machine, but you have to think there will be some hangover from letting his first major win slip through his fingers just days ago.
