If you’re playing Counter-Strike 2 on a rig with AMD’s latest graphics driver you could accidentally get yourself banned from the game.

Valve is warning players that AMD’s Anti-Lag+ feature is triggering Valve's Anti-Cheat system, causing it to mistake the low-latency mode for cheating, Engadget reports.

The issue is caused by Anti-Lag+ intercepting and redirecting Dynamic Library functions, which Valve’s Anti-Cheat system interprets as cheating.

In a post on Twitter/X, Valve advises players to not enable Anti-Lag+ software. Once AMD ships an update, it says it will also work to identify those who have been affected by the issue and reinstate their accounts.

You can turn off Anti-Lag+ for the time being with the hotkey Alt+L.

Value launched Counter-Strike 2 in September. The sequel to the popular game maintains the classic mechanisms of the original while offering players modern graphics. Earlier this week, the company confirmed it would not be adding support for Macs or older Windows PCs
