BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Beyonce is currently halfway through her Renaissance World Tour. The singer has been in the news for her glitzy attire, lavish stage productions and breathtaking dance performances to her famous tunes. This week, Beyonce's fans were outraged when some of them alleged a video from her Boston concert showed one of her crew members groping her butt. The man appeared to be getting handsy with the singer in a viral TikTok video, which was uploaded on Wednesday, August 2.
Recently, the 'Halo' singer omitted Lizzo's name from the lyrics of the 'Break My Soul' remix after the latter was accused of sexual harassment and fat-shaming by several of her former backup dancers, per the Daily Mail. Even while Lizzo's name was still visible on the screen behind Beyonce, several videos that went viral showed her appearing to skip over Lizzo's name and instead saying Erykah Badu's name.
Was Beyonce 'groped' by a crew member?
The purported viral video, obtained from X, showed the 41-year-old megastar stepping off of what appeared to be a vehicle in the middle of her performance. Beyonce was seen gently and slowly attempting to descend a ladder, while a crew member and a security guard were assisting her. She knelt down and handed her microphone to the man in a black suit on her left, while the man in the gray 'CREW' jacket stood to the right of the ladder. The crew member was seen grabbing Beyonce's butt as she stepped down to assist the performer.
Fans focused their attention on the man in gray's hand as it seemed like he was holding Beyonce's backside, that was showing through her cutout pants. The crew member's face was not visible. The 'Cuff It' hitmaker was then seen being rushed to the stage while holding hands with the crew member.
The camera shifted towards Julius de Boer, Beyonce's bodyguard, who had a stern expression on his face. Someone in the audience was heard yelling, "She's mad!" The caption of the video read, "Someone is getting fired in Boston."
In the TikTok comments, one fan joked, "That crew man got a hand full [sic]." Fans were mainly remarking on de Boer's response. Someone else said, "Julius was like 'don't touch my queen!'" Another fan opined, "Oh I know Julius was on his way to tell that man OFF." One person who believed the video to be inaccurate added, "The repositioning of his hand and all...." Some expressed fear for the crew member as a person wrote, "They coming for him. As soon as he finish helping he. He gotta start running."

People flooded X with their comments as well. One person wrote, "Did he grab Beyoncé butt , he trying to guide her down but i could have seen where he could have put his hands on her back not her rear but what if she had stumble down Julius back stage looking for dude." A second tweeted, "He was touching Beyoncé butt but shielding her wow this guy wow the stars aligned 4 u." Another exclaimed, "Y’all so focused on the crew touching Beyoncé’s butt but why tf was he dragging her off stage and Julius was even like wtf going on so wtf was going on ? Y’all not asking the right questions."
Another user quipped, "I hope & pray that Jayz wont fire those two guys for grabbing beyonce's butt!" "Stop acting like male or female if you got a chance to touch Beyoncé butt you wouldn’t take full advantage," claimed another. Another one claimed, "Nah he knew where his hands were. They were already inappropriate at that spot, he deliberately moved it further down.. man just wanted the opportunity of a lifetime to be able to say he grabbed Beyonce's butt and know what it feels like."
