Larsa Pippen was previously married to Scottie Pippen, who played with Michael Jordan on the Chicago Bulls during the 1990s

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Larsa Pippen spoke out after her boyfriend's father, Michael Jordan, allegedly stated that he was not pleased with his son Marcus Jordan, 32, and her relationship. On the latest episode of the couple's 'Separation Anxiety' podcast Larsa, 49, talked about feeling "traumatized" and "embarrassed" after Michael, 60, was recently asked if he approved of Marcus' romance with the 'Real Housewives of Miami' star, to which the NBA legend apparently replied with a "No."

Larsa explained that she was concerned because she believed the public assumed she was lying about her comments about both families approving the couple's relationship. "Online they were saying that I was lying, that I lied and said that our parents are fine because I was doing interviews and saying both of our families are fine," the mom-of-four revealed during the episode titled 'Father Knows Best?!?!??!'. "When I would say that, I felt like I didn't embellish that and I would say both of our parents want us to be happy. I do understand that it's not awkward for us to be together because it's us."

'I didn't think it was funny'

"You thought it was funny," Larsa told Marcus, adding, "I didn't think it was funny. There is nothing funny about it. I kinda felt like it went everywhere and I was kind of embarrassed." Notably, her ex-husband Scottie Pippen, to whom she got married in 1997, used to play with Michael on the Chicago Bulls during the 90s and won six championships, but the two divorced in 2021. "It probably is awkward for my ex and your dad because they have their own relationship or whatever it was," Larsa stated, adding, "I wasn't a part of that, you weren't a part of that. So I feel like for them it probably is weird, it probably is weird for your dad. I can't be mad. I understand. Oh my god, I was traumatized. I was like what are we going to do, people think I lied."

Marcus then took over, claiming his father's comment was nothing more than a joke caused by too much Cincoro tequila. He even claimed that his father texted him immediately after the paparazzi interaction to make sure he didn't get the wrong message. "I can only assume my dad because he loves Cincoro and he drinks tequila all the time, that he was feeling himself a little bit," Marcus said, noting he thought the whole situation was hilarious, continuing, "Obviously we knew ahead of time because he called me and texted me and wanted to make sure that I didn't take anything the wrong way but then when the article came out, he texted me again and he never said 'hell no' and that's not what the implications were."

'His goal has always been to stay clear of our relationship'

Michael's son, Marcus, also explained how the "root" of the problem is that many people are focusing on his father's relationship with Scottie Pippen, which appears to have soured in recent years. "His goal has always been to stay clear of our relationship," Marcus said, adding, "Look, at the root of it all is my dad's relationship with your ex, Scottie. Obviously, we never talk about that and I don't think my dad wanted to comment on that. There is always that narrative, that rumor that I'm dating you in some sort of way to get back at whatever was said. One of the things [Jordan] also said was 'You don't need my approval in your personal life', insinuating that that's something that we could say for us. But I feel like if we came out saying that then we look defiant and combative and forget everybody else, we're just going to do our thing."
