Before her untimely death, Sinead O'Connor expressed excitement over moving to London after 23 years and about finishing a new album

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Sinead O'Connor's untimely death on July 26 took her close ones by surprise as she had been looking forward to publishing an album and going on tour. Moreover, in the weeks leading up to her death, the 56-year-old singer shared her excitement about her new life in a £3,000-a-month apartment, which was located between Brixton and Herne Hill in South London.

Her final Facebook post on July 12 marked one of her last communications to her friends and followed before she died. The post read, "Hi all, I recently moved back to London after 23 years absence. Very happy to be home. Soon finishing my album. Release early next year. Hopefully touring Australia and New Zealand toward the end 2024. Europe, USA and other territories beginning early 2025."

Sinead O'Connor was looking forward to a positive life

Just days before her death, O'Connor took to Twitter to express her excitement about attending a ballet screening. She shared her anticipation for watching Rudolf Nureyev's Don Quixote, exclaiming, "SO fuggin excited to go see Rudolf Nureyev's Don Quixote in 14 hours and 17 minutes. I mean, just, OM effin' G!!!"

According to a source, "Everything on the outside appeared to be going well for Sinead. Before she moved to London she was excited about the future and had been starting to work on new music. The news of her death came as a massive shock." The 'I Want Your' singer had supposedly expressed excitement about her future and was also working on new music before moving to London. In a social media video, O'Connor gave a tour of her house and she was heard saying, "Here’s my nice flat, there's a bunch of flowers my friend gave me today. That’s all I can show you because the place is a s**thole."

Sinead O'Connor left her close ones bereaved

O'Connor was not only an iconic talent and a great star but someone who created a family, encompassing her four children and also their fathers. Moreover, she was special to the people who were part of her extraordinary life journey, including friends who are now left bereaved. Irish film director Neil Jordan expressed, "She seemed happy, at last. I had known her on and off since the 80s, relishing a friendship with her that thankfully never went offside. She was always devastatingly beautiful and terrifyingly provocative, a combination that some found hard to deal with," to The Guardian. While another musician, Roisin Murphy, stated, "She lived her truth, always so unbelievably brave. We’ve lost another precious thing which is always hard to process, but Sinead’s legacy of all that is beautiful and harrowing in truth will continue to show us the light."
