DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA: Nadia Nakai and late rapper Kiernan Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA, had a well-known relationship that was marked by frequent public displays of love and support. Now with the arrival of the brand-new season of 'Young, Famous & African', fans get a glimpse into the couple's relationship as it documents the time they were just getting together.
AKA was apparently preparing a Valentine's Day surprise proposal. Anyone who knew the rapper knows that he was a hopeless romantic who went out of his way to express his feelings for Nadia. The cute couple, dubbed the Braggacy, had been painting timelines red with their loved-up postings, dinner and lunch outings, and even local and foreign vacations. Before he was assassinated in Durban on February 10, AKA was ready to take their relationship to the next level.

'AKA was assassinated in broad daylight'
Authorities suspect he was murdered outside a renowned restaurant in Durban on 10 February 2023 by a hired hitman. A guy wearing a white jumper and cap can be seen crossing the street and approaching AKA before shooting two rounds at the rapper's head, killing him instantly, according to CCTV evidence. AKA and his long-time companion Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane were both murdered.
"From what we know and have seen, it was a hit, AKA was assassinated in broad daylight," said Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula, who paid the family a visit. "We need to get to the bottom of why this happened, because AKA was not a drug lord, he was a musician, why does he deserve to be killed like that?" he inquired.
Following the terrible death of the much-loved rapper, South African police are certain they are on the verge of apprehending his assailants. The police acknowledged that they are still investigating and would not leave any stone unturned. Investigators are putting together the facts by studying various video recordings from the night of the murder. According to the Daily Sun, KZN commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi acknowledged that investigations are still ongoing, but they have a good understanding of who the killers are.
Nadia gushes about romance with Aka in 'Young, Famous & African' Season 2
Nadia Nakai wrote a touching statement for her late boyfriend and fellow rapper as she publicly mourned his passing. Bragga, as she is often known, added that while she attempted to remember when she was happy before him, "everything doesn't feel real." Nadia wondered what her life would be like, saying that while time heals, she didn't know whether she'd ever be okay.
In 2021, Nadia and AKA began covertly dating and became public by attending red-carpet events together, posting loved-up Instagram images. Following rumors that they were covertly dating, Nadia and AKA apparently made their relationship public in 2021. They later got lion tattoos to show their followers how much they meant to one another. While AKA had a lion's head tattooed on his arm, his rapper girlfriend had a lioness' head inked on the same area of her arm.
Nadia can be seen talking about her relationship with the late rapper on Season 2 of 'Young, Famous & African,' as the rest of the cast seem to appreciate the young couple.
