Sandra Oh recalled how the role, which was extremely brief, had a huge impact and a conversation she had with a fan

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sandra Oh would like to reprise her role in the third 'Princess DIaries' movie because she was curious about what her character was doing after so long. Oh said in a recent interview, "I am ready for the Queen. Call me! I'm dying to see how Gupta has moved up in the world."

In the 2001 Gary Marshall-directed movie, the 'Grey's Anatomy' star played Geraldine Gupta, the vice-principal of the school Anne Hathaway's character, Mia Thermopolis, went to. Oh recalled how memorable the role was and a conversation she had with a fan about it.

Sandra Oh's tiny yet memorable role

Oh played Gupta for a little over two minutes in 'The Princess Diaries'. However, the prowess she showed in delivering those few lines made her an instant hit. Recalling the conversation with the fan, Oh said, "I remember it was like 2015, I was walking down the street in Chicago, and there [was] a young person, who at that point in 2015, was not my usual demographic, which was like a college-aged, straight white guy," adding, "He passed me and then he ran back up to me and did the line: 'Uh huh. Uh huh. Uh huh. The Queen is coming. I was like, 'Who is this 20-year-old frat boy?' He was coming up to me doing that line," per Deadline.

'It's a process that requires patience'

Disney officially announced that Aadrita Mukerji and Debra Martin Chase were working on the third 'The Princess Diaries' movie in November 2022. Hathaway is reportedly expected to reprise her role as Princess Mia. The 'Les Miserables' star asked fans to be patient about the movie's release. She reportedly said, "We feel the exact same, and I know it's probably very frustrating," adding, "It's a process that requires patience, and so everybody should consider themselves a part of the movie business now, because this is how long it actually takes to make things."
