LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicholas Cage in the fantasy movie ‘Renfield’ has had a few instances of biting his prey! As it happens that the celebrated action movie star once revealed that he was afraid of a pig named Brandy, so much that he was rumored to be saying, “It’ll be sepsis from a pig bite that kills me.” The incident happened on the set of the 2021 movie, ‘Pig’. in the Michael Sarnoski directorial ‘Pig’ Cage played the role of a hunter who lived with his pig in Oregon. In a curious fate of events, as his believed pus is abducted, the character is forced to time travel back in the past to go to Portland to get the pig back.

'It'll be sepsis from a pig bite that kills me'

The director Michael Sarnoski shared during a candid Q&A session revealed that Cage used to say during the filming, while being afraid of the pig, who was called Brandy. He remarked, "After a nasty bite” before adding, “I've been set on fire, I've been in flipped cars but it'll be sepsis from a pig bite that kills me." While it was also noted that Brandy was untrained, it has been reported that Brandy has died.

Cage also revealed during an interview with GQ that the pig had human tendencies, namely, she was like the professional actors, quite interested in payment, which in her case was food. Cage recalled in the interview, “She was interested in food really and food only, understandably."

He further added, “She wasn’t that interested in people and I get that.” Cage continued the method they worked out in order to get the job done by Brandy, “But if they need a very soulful look in her eyes, off-camera, you could show her a bit of carrot. She seemed to like that. Brandy was her name.” The veteran actor further added that he liked working with her saying, “I enjoyed working with her, I love working with animals. Magical things happen when you have a scene with a dog or a cat. Any animal, really.”

'I drew heavily on those relationships'

He also opened up about the unconditional relationship that exists between a pet and their owners. He continued, “It’s all unconditional love and it’s very close and it’s very affectionate and palpable. We’ve all been through this nightmare of the pandemic and we’ve all gotten even closer still to our animal brothers and sisters and relied on them heavily. And so, yes. I drew heavily on those relationships
