UPLAND, CALIFORNIA: Jess is a widower searching for love who has a huge lump on his neck. He joins Dr Sandra Lee on 'Dr Pimple Popper' in the hopes of parting ways with the enormous friend sitting on his neck and having a better chance at love one more time.

Dr Lee, often known as 'Dr. Pimple Popper,' has become a household figure after sharing her initial YouTube videos depicting blackhead extractions in 2014. 'Dr Pimple Popper' has gone from being a board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon to a worldwide social media and reality TV phenomenon with over 2.8 million Instagram followers, over 4 million YouTube subscribers, and videos that have been viewed over 2 billion times in just a few short years. 'Dr Pimple Popper's Popaholics return video after video to watch her press, squeeze, and pop anything from blackheads to cysts to lipomas, and to see her patients leave her clinic with a newfound feeling of confidence and self-worth. Whether you watch the videos for educational purposes or for the shock value, 'Dr Pimple Popper' has another delightful episode for you as she addresses Jess' neck horror.

Who is Jess on 'Dr Pimple Popper'?

Jess, who resides in Texas, is 71 years old. With the huge ball in the back of his neck, he feels like a hunchback. He describes his lump as a monstrous softball protruding from the side of his neck. He described the lump as squishy until he began pressing on it, at which point it became stiffer. Until he attempts to conceal it with his hair, however, the bulge is so large that it is still visible. "It's disgusting, and it looks ugly," he said to the TLC cameras.

He initially became aware of his ailment in 2000. It was formerly in the form of a flat piece. Jess had spent nearly three and a half years in medical school, so he was pretty certain it was a lipoma. A general practitioner verified it for him. But the ball has been getting bigger and bigger for years. Jess' growth is turning him into a hermit crab.

Jess had wanted it removed for four years before contacting Dr Lee. However, life had other ideas. For over 40 years, he was married to Anna, whom he described as the "love of his life." They have three boys. However, his wife was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer four years ago. He dropped everything to save his wife's life at that point. But he couldn't pull it off. He had lost Anna five months before filming 'Dr Pimple Popper'. He recalls losing his wife as making him feel lifeless. It utterly turned his world on its head. He now resides in Texas with his three boys. Every day, he praises God that his boys are there to keep him company. His son feels that having the lipoma removed will allow his father to resume dating, but he can't seem to ignore the risky medical surgery Jess will have to undergo.

What happened to Jess on 'Dr Pimple Popper'?

Lipomas are fat-filled growths that occur between the muscle layer and the skin layer of a person. Lipomas typically grow slowly and are tiny, measuring around two inches in diameter.

When pushed with a finger, these growths normally feel doughy and move about under the skin. Lipomas are painless in most individuals, but they can be uncomfortable in others if they are near nerves or blood vessels. Lipomas can be drained if this is the case.

Jess' lipoma removal would be more challenging, according to Dr Lee, because the neck has more fibrous tissue that retains lipomas under the skin. She began by slicing into the center of the growth and freeing it with her hands. When she discovered it was "wedged" into place, she split the lipoma in two to see beneath the surface. Dr Lee then sewed Jim up after removing the rest of the lipoma using surgical scissors. She stated that the process was easier than she anticipated.

Where is Jess from 'Dr Pimple Popper' now?

Lipomas, in most circumstances, do not require treatment, however, some people prefer to have them surgically removed due to their appearance or if they are in a highly pressure-bearing area.

Because of the enormous size of this man's lipoma, it seems logical that he would want to have it removed - that, and having such a massive mass weighing on the back of your neck, no? Dr Lee moves in on the monster in the episode, slicing into the skin, digging — yes, digging! — about until she can get a good grasp, and then dragging it out as if it were a single booger, or something comparable in slimy factor. We'll never know how she accomplishes it without dropping her meal. The good news is that this man is now lipoma-free and alive to tell the tale. As he informed the TLC cameras, Jess' neck now feels significantly lighter.

TLC airs new episodes of 'Dr Pimple Popper' Season 9 on Wednesdays at 9 PM ET.
