NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former federal prison guard Tova Noel, who dozed off on the night Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in his cell, currently works as a medical office assistant at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care in Westchester, New York.

As per a lawsuit, she is being sued for allegedly attacking a coworker, Mayda Roman, at her new job, as per the New York Post. Similar to the Epstein fiasco, court documents reveal that the chaotic episode with the colleague was never captured on security footage.

In August 2019, the disgraced Epstein was discovered dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correction Center in Manhattan. The two cameras outside his cell stopped functioning when he killed himself, only 15 feet from the prison guards' workstation, while he awaited trial on federal sex trafficking allegations.

Charges against Tova Noel in the Jeffrey Epstein fiasco were dropped after she got into a plea deal

Noel, who "slept and browsed the internet" while when she was supposed to keep a watch on Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested for falsifying prison records to give the impression that she had conducted the necessary checks on him.

Two years ago, in an attempt to escape going to jail, she accepted a plea agreement and a Manhattan court later dismissed the criminal charges against Noel and Michael Thomas, the other guard.

While working extra shifts, the two allegedly sat only five yards away from Epstein's cell, but instead of inspecting it every 30 minutes as mandated, they allegedly went online and took breaks.

What happened between Tova Noel and her co-worker Mayda Roman?

According to court documents submitted in Westchester County Supreme Court on Friday, November 10, Tova Noel's coworker at Montefiore Einstein, Mayda Roman, is suing her for assault and wants an undisclosed amount in damages.

When Noel started her new job in September, Roman, the office medical assistant, was given the charge to train her. However, the two of them never got along.

According to court filings, during her first week on the job, the former prison guard "became irate" at Roman, who takes ADHD medication and is prone to interrupting.

On one instance when Noel was interrupted, she allegedly delivered a "very hard" punch on Roman's left arm. This led Roman to become "extremely anxious and afraid of Noel," as per the lawsuit.

It also states that Noel "put her hands on" Roman in October, pulling her ear "forcefully," getting in her face, and yelling, "You don’t listen!" in front of their coworkers.

However, the lawsuit claims that because the medical facility's security cameras "were not functioning," the incidents were never captured on footage.

Adding to the tension, Roman, a Latina, was asked for the color of a new patient when entering data into the records system, which prompted Noel, a black woman, to "falsely accuse" the former of being racist.

Roman brought up the physical assault when the two women met with Human Resources on October 18. However, she was suspended by HR staff and let go a week later.

As of now, Noel remains employed at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care.

Roman called Noel a "bully" and a "liar," saying, "I don’t like problems and I really did like the job," to the New York Post. She also claimed to know nothing about Noel until she looked up the former guard's name on Google.
