A newly launched podcast is giving Joe Rogan's JRE podcast a run for its money

FLORIDA, MIAMI: 'Hot Mess' has displaced the number one podcast on Spotify! In case you weren't aware, it was Joe Rogan's 'The Joe Rogan Experience' that has held that spot, almost consistently, over the past 15 years.

This is because of the former 'Fear Factor' host's ability to secure appearances from influential and interesting people from all over the world.

Recently, Joe Rogan's 'JRE' topped UK charts but now, a famous TikToker, who is new to podcasting, is challenging him on his home turf.

The 'Hot Mess' podcast host is the flavor of the month because of her relatable style on Spotify. But who is she? Lets dig into the details of who this TikToker is and her Spotify triumph.

Who surpassed Joe Rogan on Spotify?

Back when Spotify first started offering exclusive arrangements for podcasts, the JRE Podcast emerged as their crowning achievement. In exchange for the exclusive right to release the podcast only on Spotify, they paid Rogan an amount $200 million.

They have kept on signing additional podcasters to exclusive contracts, and some of them have succeeded in unseating him from the top spot, if only momentarily, like Meghan Markle's 'Archetypes'.

It seems TikTok star Alix Earle, who has amassed tens of millions of online followers, has now dethroned Rogan with her 'Hot Mess' podcast, Dexerto reported.

After its September 21 launch, the hugely popular TikToker's podcast was quick to displace Rogan from his number one spot. Whether she is able to hold on to this position is another matter.

Currently, the newbie podcaster is running on the excitement about her podcast debut and bringing her relatable style to a different medium.

Alix Earle surpassed 'The Diary of a CEO' podcast earlier

TikTok star Alix Earle overtook both Rogan and 'The Diary of a CEO' podcast in the first episode.

Rogan's show is now in third place. It's noteworthy to note that the JRE Podcast was in the middle of a run of four fresh episodes in four days when she released her first episode.

There wasn't really a pause or break from Rogan for 'Hot Mess' to take advantage of. This increases the impressive nature of the listening numbers for Earle.

As previously mentioned, Rogan has seen similar situations before, particularly in the UK.

He was deposed a few months ago by YouTuber WillNE after the introduction of his TWOTI podcast, and the UFC commentator was also ousted from the top spot not long after by a completely unrelated show.

But it never takes too long for the JRE Podcast to reclaim the top spot. Additionally, it's still flourishing in a lot of other markets.
