NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Watch What Happens Live’ host Andy Cohen probed ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Eva Longoria on-air during the show’s signature question-and-answer game. Back in 2019, the philanthropist who played Gabrielle Solis for eight seasons revealed she was bullied by a co-worker on the set. The claim resurfaced on the live show's Q&A segment.
During a recent episode of ‘Watch What Happens Live’, Andy Cohen welcomed actress and director Eva Longoria and her friend Gabrielle Union as guests. When Cohen called in the bully as one of the questions, Longoria seemed to laugh awkwardly and pleaded the fifth, declining to identify the person.
‘I plead the fifth’
On the Thursday, June 15 ‘WWHL’ broadcast, Eva Longoria played the Q&A game with host Andy Cohen during her visit to Bravo set in New York City. After she won a spin of the wheel against fellow guest Gabrielle Union, she faced a lively interrogation. Cohen, 55, explained the rules, stating that there will be three questions and she can "plead the fifth" to only one. Then Cohen began with his fiery questions asking, “What is the most misogynistic note that you've ever received from a Hollywood executive?” Eva responded with honesty, “Can you do that more spicy? When I was on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Can you do that more Latiny and spicy. I was like, I don't know what that means.” Cohen offered, “Wow, that’s also a little bit racist,” and Eva agreed with him adding, “A little bit.” Union jutted in to say, “Yeah, big racist.”
Cohen then set her up with a second question, pointing to her 2019 feud where she penned a letter of support for her ‘Desperate Housewives’ co-star Felicity Huffman, who was arrested as part of the nationwide college entrance cheating scandal. Eva noted in her letter that Felicity stood up for her against a co-worker who was bullying her. Cohen went on to ask, “Who was the co-worker and how were you being bullied?” Eva grinned while Union looked at her with her eyes wide, and then said, “I plead the fifth.” Cohen said, “I had a feeling.” Eva then said, “I can’t believe what’s the third question, oh God, I’m sweating.”
Cohen ended the awkwardness as he quickly called out the third and final question pointing out that Eva is best friends with Victoria Beckham and godmother to two of her children, Cruz and Harper. He then asked, “What is your least favorite Spice Girls song?” To Cohen’s surprise, Eva answered, “I love them all. And by the way, I’m Spicy Spice, I’m the sixth Spice Girl.” Cohen replied, “Oh nice, nice.” Eva also said she is “open to a reboot" of the comedy-drama mystery series.
Eva Longoria’s support for Felicity Huffman
Eva Longoria played Gabrielle Solis on ‘Desperate Housewives’, which aired from 2004 to 2012. She revealed that when she was bullied on set, her co-star Felicity Huffman stepped in to defend her. Longoria’s claim resurfaced in a letter she wrote to a federal judge in support of Huffman, who pleaded guilty to fraud related to college admission bribery. She spoke fondly of Huffman and called her a “good friend” who stood up for her. Longoria exclaimed in her letter, “There was a time I was being bullied at work by a co-worker. I dreaded the days that I had to work with that person because it was pure torture,” as per NBC News. She continued, “One day, Felicity told the bully ‘enough’ and it all stopped.”
