LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Good Morning America' boasts an impressive roster of hosts, which includes Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, and George Stephanopoulos, among a few that people tune in to watch every morning. However, the third hour of 'GMA' widely recognized as "GMA3," isn't far behind when it comes to the impeccable standards of hosts. In the past, TJ Holmes and Amy Robach were part of it before an alleged affair led to their termination.

For now, Robach is replaced by Eva Pilgrim, and DeMarco Morgan has taken Holmes' place, but as a surprise, a third host who had been away from the studio for a while is now back. Alicia Quarles recently returned to the 'GMA3 studio after a prolonged maternity leave. During her unexpected return, the 42-year-old anchor clicked a few pictures with co-hosts Eva and Morgan, sharing them on her Instagram.

Who is Alicia Quarles?

Alicia Quarles is a news and entertainment journalist who joined the third hour of 'Good Morning America' in 2020 after serving as a senior news correspondent on the syndicated 'DailyMailTV' show. Before that, Quarles worked at E! News for three years, covering important events, including the Grammys, Academy Awards, The Golden Globes, and Billboard Awards.

Quarles began her maternity leave toward the beginning of 2023, around the same time when Robach and Holmes were dismissed for their alleged affair. Now, she returns to the daytime television show for the first time since giving birth to twins. The new mother took to Instagram to post a series of photos from her first day back in the studio. In the first one, Quarles is seen sitting on an orange bench that looks like a vintage TV with "GMA3" written above it, while the next two images include Pilgrim and Morgan posing with her. She also added a behind-the-scenes photo of her sitting in the makeup chair. Quarles's caption for the post read, "I'm back! Had THE best time today with @demarcomorgan @evapilgrim @catmac29 & our entire @abcgma3 family."

Alicia Quarles opens up about giving birth

Quarles shared her experience of becoming a mother, opening up about the situation that developed when she was delivering her kids, in an interview with the PEOPLE magazine. "My girl was breech and wouldn't turn...I had no idea about this recovery," said Quarles about having complications during the birth. Moreover, the 'GMA3' host got candid about her road to motherhood and her "shocking" pregnancy, stating, "I actually froze my eggs at 39...I was preparing to go to a sperm donor and everything. I still have 17 eggs on ice, never used. I knew I wanted to have kids I just was shocked when they said twins!" The Emmy-winning journalist gave birth to her daughter Harlow and son Hudson on February 16.
