Chris Paul is a basketball player and an author who recently appeared in 'GMA' with George Stephanopoulos

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘GMA’ welcomes a range of guestson their television show, whether that’s to break some shocking news or interview celebrities, sportsmen, and more. On Monday, ‘GMA’ hosts welcomed Chris Paul to their panel, with Michael Strahan, George Stephanopoulos, and Linsey Davis joining him. Paul was on ‘GMA’ to talk about his new memoir ‘Sixty-One: Life Lessons from Papa, On and Off the Court' his basketball career, and everything in between.

Apart from being a brilliant basketball player, Paul is also known as an author and ‘GMA’ has given him the opportunity to make it known.

Nevertheless, most segments on ‘GMA’ can’t go down without a mishap, and this time, there was a brief friction between Stephanopoulos and Strahan.

Who is Chris Paul?

As aforementioned, Paul is a basketball player first, then an author, making for an interesting combination. If you are familiar with basketball, then you are most likely aware that Paul is an NBA superstar, who plays point guard for the Phoenix Suns (although, there might be an update here as you keep reading).

In addition to being a great sportsman and author, Paul has been awarded several accolades, including two Olympic gold medals. He continues to impress people all over the world as he has also been president of the National Basketball Players Association for eight whole years.

Now, Paul appeared on 'GMA’ to talk about his powerful memoir ‘Sixty-One: Life Lessons from Papa, On and Off the Court’ which will officially release on June 20, 2023.

‘Don’t push him’

Undoubtedly, if a point guard of the Phoenix Suns is on your television show, there will be some excitement, especially for the men on the panel. In this case, Strahan and Stephanopoulos were both excited to hear from Paul. Although the conversation was about to be all about Paul’s memoir, a little basketball talk was inevitable.

Paul has been with the Phoenix Suns for the longest time, but recently, according to The Guardian, Paul found out that he was being traded to Washington Wizards on a plane ride by his son. Strahan mentioned this, and Paul admitted he was surprised, explaining, “In this league, anything can happen, so you just figure out what’s next.”

The curious Stephanopoulos wanted to know whether or not Paul really found out about this news on a plane ride, to which Paul responded with a simple, "Absolutely.” Strahan noticed the possible shortness at this point and intervened, stopping Stephanopoulos from asking any conversations, "Don't push him any further. He's trying to be nice about it."

Well, the men could have continued their basketball conversation, but luckily Davis swooped him to change the subject.
