LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Five' host Jeanine Pirro was previously married to Albert Pirro. Jeanine and Albert, who tied the knot in 1975, were together for almost four decades until they got divorced in 2013 after a tumultuous marriage.

Albert was a controversial figure who reportedly got roped into several frauds and convictions, even when Jeanine was a judge for the court of New York.

For his final conviction, he was pardoned in 2021 by then-President Donald Trump who had reportedly been a good friend of Jeanine for years. Albert once admitted, “Her best thing would be to divorce me . . . but she won’t make the move," as per the New York Post.

Albert Pirro's scandals damaged Jeanine Pirro's career

Albert Pirro has worked in multiple professions related to law and business. It was after his marriage to Jeanine in 1975 that the couple moved to New York and he started his career as a lobbyist.

Throughout his marriage with Jeanine, he allegedly struggled with multiple scandals, which included affairs along with legal problems.

The couple had two children named Christie and Alexander. But before that, Albert had allegedly gotten involved with another woman and reportedly fathered an illegitimate child with her, as per the New York Post.

When Jeanine Pirro was elected to her first four-year term as Westchester's district attorney in 1993, she began developing a reputation as a tough law enforcer. Then the past of her husband reportedly returned to haunt her.

A former paralegal from Florida said she’d had an extramarital love affair with Albert – and filed a paternity suit against him, claiming he had fathered her daughter, as per the New York Post.

Things didn’t settle down after the paternity suit. In 2000, a scandal struck again. Albert Pirro was reportedly convicted of tax fraud and income tax evasion following a trial.

According to the New York Post, Jeanine had gone under investigation for alleged illegal wiretapping. She had also admitted that she hired someone to follow Albert around to check his whereabouts, what he was doing, and who he was with.

The investigation seemingly affected Pirro's candidacy for the post of Attorney General of NYC. As a result, she lost the position in 2006.

Soon after, Jeanine decided to separate from her husband in 2007. It took them another six years to legally get a divorce which was finalized in 2013, as per NY Daily News.

Besides handling their relationship problems, Albert was also subjected to some prison time for being involved in tax evasion and conspiracy in 2000. But it was because of Donald Trump's involvement that he was pardoned for his crimes.
