According to the NY Post, Cahn claimed that Lipa, who was allegedly very drunk at the time, threatened to kill her and her dog using a 41-inch sword that he had hanging on the wall.

The situation escalated further when he retrieved the sword and positioned it menacingly over her chest, intensifying his threats toward both her and her pet. The alarming incident prompted Cahn to seek legal recourse. Meanwhile, Lipa has reportedly refused to allow Cahn back into their shared $1.1 million apartment.

David Lipa faces serious charges

Lipa was taken into custody by the authorities and now faces charges of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. Lipa, who is a co-founder of the virtual document storage company Lightserve, also refused to allow Cahn back into their home. "When she was finally able to re-enter, with the assistance of the police, she saw that Mr Lipa had stabbed and destroyed her clothing," her lawyer Nonna Shikh said in a statement.

Cahn and Lipa started dating in April 2022 and decided to move in together just four months later. According to Cahn, Lipa's behavior was concerning as he would frequently consume alcohol and use Adderall, leading up to the unsettling incidents that occurred during their time together. Lipa is accused of physically assaulting her by slapping her in the face on two separate occasions, once in November and at other unspecified times. Additionally, Cahn alleges that Lipa made threatening remarks, stating his intentions to harm both her and her dog, Sega, by dangling the pet out of a window. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages as a result of the distressing incidents Cahn endured during their relationship.

"Ms Cahn is in complete emotional distress and physical pain from the actions of Mr Lipa," the attorney added. However, an attorney for Lipa said, "Mr Lipa graciously financed Ms Cahn’s lifestyle until the relationship came to an end. These false allegations are nothing more than a shakedown and we are confident [they] will be ultimately dismissed."
