WICHITA, KANSAS: After enduring a boating accident on May 26 that resulted in a brain injury, 10-year-old Rielynn Martin, a Haysville native, has finally returned home following a more than month-long stay in hospitals, including facilities in Wichita and Nebraska. On June 1, Rielynn emerged from her coma, delivering a much-anticipated miracle to her anxious family.

To mark her homecoming, the community organized a surprise parade on Saturday afternoon, July 1, orchestrated by Rielynn's aunt. Unbeknownst to her, the parade served as a heartwarming welcome back for Rielynn, who was greeted by a procession of people from her community, eager to show their support and joy for her return. "Because she deserves a welcome home, the best welcome home I could give her," said Heather McIntire, Rielynn’s aunt, per KSN.

'It’s been amazing'

In addition to the overwhelming support and well-wishes, Rielynn's family has also been touched by the generosity of others. They have received donations to assist with her medical expenses, offering much-needed financial relief during the challenging time. Furthermore, people from across the country have sent an abundance of heartfelt get-well-soon cards, a testament to the outpouring of love and concern for Rielynn's recovery. "To know that there are so many people, not just here in Haysville, but all over, all over the world, people from Colorado, people from Texas, from all over the world have sent her cards, people have donated money to help my brother through this situation, it’s been amazing," said McIntire.
