Dr Roland Louis Pinkney was seen dancing alongside former cosmetic surgeon Windell Davis-Boutte, who was singing while performing a liposuction

DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA: In a bizarre incident, an anesthesiologist named Roland Louis Pinkney found himself at the center of a TikTok video scandal during a liposuction procedure. The now-infamous 'dancing doctor' video captured him dancing alongside former cosmetic surgeon Windell Davis-Boutte, who was singing to the song 'Cut It' by OT Genasis while performing the operation.

In the aftermath of the viral video, the patient, Latoya Rideau, filed two separate cases accusing both Pinkney and Davis-Boutte of medical malpractice over the alleged "botched" operation. However, Pinkney has now been cleared of the malpractice charges. In a video deposition, Pinkney said, "That was the first video I've ever been in, because prior to that I always sat down and said I didn't want to partake in the videos." He claimed that he did not expect Davis-Boutte to actually make an incision during the video. "It was not supposed to be surgery being performed. When that happened, I said, 'Back down,'" he said, per WSBTV.

Dr Roland Louis Pinkney, MD, is a healthcare provider based in Douglasville, Georgia. With additional offices in Atlanta, Lithonia, and two other locations, Pinkney has been practising medicine for 35 years. His areas of specialization are Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is affiliated with Wellstar Douglas Hospital, per Vitals.

Following an intense five-day trial at Fulton County Court involving Pinkney, the jury ruled in favor of Rideau. However, the outcome was unusual as the court awarded her $0 in damages. The decision was based on the jury's assessment of fault, attributing "0%" responsibility to Pinkney and deeming him not at fault. On the other hand, they held Davis-Boutte, who was not involved in the case, "100%" responsible for the incident, per Daily Mail.

Dr Windell Davis-Boutte's medical license suspended

Following the verdict on Monday, July 31, Pinkney's legal team revealed that he felt embarrassed for his involvement in the video and believed that Rideau had given consent to being filmed during the procedure. Dr Davis-Boutte, hailing from Lilburn, Georgia, has faced significant consequences after the emergence of the controversial video. Georgia's Composite Medical Board deemed her "a threat to the public health, safety, and welfare" and subsequently suspended her medical license.

In a separate and ongoing legal proceeding, Rideau has also filed a lawsuit against Davis-Boutte, accusing her of a botched operation that resulted in disfigurement. Rideau's dissatisfaction with the situation has been evident as she previously expressed feeling "disrespected" by the former surgeon's "horrible" videos. "To see that video, with my flesh being cut, without a straight line, and dancing while cutting me? That's horrible," Rideau said. "I feel disrespected on a lot of levels."
