NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Shawn Booth of 'The Bachelorette' Season 11 announced on his podcast 'In The Booth with Shawn Booth' that he will be a father in the near future. Since his split from Kaitlyn Bristowe in Novmber 2018, the reality star has kept his personal life mostly quiet.
Shawn may have moved on from roses, but he'll be facing a new challenge in the near future -- parenthood. Shawn, the winner of Kaitlyn's season of 'The Bachelorette', were together for three years after becoming engaged on the show but eventually split up. While Shawn has kept his dating life private since leaving 'The Bachelorette', he has used the fame he gained from starring on the show to promote his personal training business. Shawn's announcement shocked his fans on a whole new level after he built his own gym and spoke about his life along the way.
'December 12, baby Booth on their way'
Shawn announced on the most recent episode of his podcast that he is all set to become a parent soon. "December 12, baby Booth on their way," Shawn revealed. "It’s happening. I’m gonna be a father. The mother is somebody who I’ve been close with for years." While he did not reveal her identity, Shawn did reveal more about his child's mother on the show. "We’ve had a relationship, and we’ve dated. This just isn’t some random girl I met at Honky Tonk Central," Shawn said. "I’m ready. I’m 37 years old. I’ve always wanted to be a dad."
Who is the mystery woman?
Shawn did remark that if "she's up for it", he'd have her on the podcast and that she's 18 weeks pregnant. The couple has no intention of finding out the gender of the child before he or she is born.
He further stated that trying to keep his girlfriend's pregnancy a secret has been difficult. "Going through pregnancy, and trying to, like, keep it under wraps is obviously tricky. We didn't tell really anybody. She told, like, her close family and friends," he said. "I waited, probably, 10 to 12 weeks to tell really anybody. Just a couple weeks ago, she started coming back to my gym," he clarified.
While Shawn did not reveal his partner's identity, he did say that the two of them are not hiding their connection. "'[I was like], ‘Come back to the gym. Get in there, like, let’s not worry about what anybody says.’ And Nashville is a small town, people talk, and so [I] got her to come back to the gym, and after that, then everybody in Nashville knew pretty much." While their future child "wasn't something that was planned," he said, "It will be and is the most beautiful surprise I’ve ever had in my life."
And the Bachelor Nation alum had nothing but admiration for his baby's mother, revealing that their child will have both of their surnames. "She's going to be such a good mother. And it's going to be incredible. It's very overwhelming," he said.
"It's also tough, too, for the dad because it takes a while to really fully grasp that you're having a kid—your body's not changing, you're not dealing with all the hormones, and you want to, like, as much as you can, help out," he said of the changes her body is going through, adding, "But you also can't really do anything. So she's been an absolute champ, a rock star through it all."
