LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY: A man has been arrested and slapped with charges the same day when police found the body of his missing girlfriend. Timothy Winterholler was arrested on Friday, July 14, after a case of arson took place at Jefferson Memorial Forest. The 27-year-old has been pressed with a second-degree arson charge.
WHAS-TV citing arrest documents reported that Winterholler allegedly ablaze the car of his now-dead girlfriend, Lynnden Bray, who disappeared on Thursday, July 13, while hiking with her dogs. The 24-year-old’s remains were found in the Jefferson Memorial Forest a day later.
‘A death investigation has begun’
A statement issued by Louisville Metro Police Department said, “Per our Missing Persons Unit. We are canceling the Operation Return Home for Ms. Bray as of 5 pm on 7-14-23. She was located this afternoon in the Jefferson Memorial Forest. She was found deceased. A death investigation has begun..”
The cops reportedly shared that Winterholler filed a missing person report for Bray. He also apparently claimed to burn her car. As per the investigators’ analysis, the accused “intentionally set with the intent to damage or destroy it.”
Who is Timothy Winterholler?
As reported above, Winterholler is the boyfriend of Bray. Apart from that, nothing much is known about him. Currently, he’s been placed behind bars at Metro Corrections as he will be arraigned soon. Meanwhile, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office revealed in its finding report that Bray’s cause of death was “ligature hanging”. However, no connection has been made between Bray’s death and her boyfriend.
A GoFundMe has been started to help Bray’s family. The message written there says, “My name is Wanda Wheatley. As a friend of the Bray Family, I was asked to create a Go Fund Me in hopes that Kandy Bray can get enough funds to lay her 24-year-old daughter to rest. Lynnden’s death was very unexpected and still undetermined.” It adds, “This was Kandy’s only child and Lynnden was her world. Right now the family is uncertain whether to bury or cremate. It’s just not a decision they were prepared to make for this young lady. Anything that anyone can give to help her with burial or cremation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.”
‘Prayers for her friends and family’
Besides, many people have expressed their sadness over her death. A user wrote on Facebook, “Prayers for her family, may God hold them close with His love and comfort.” Another user wrote, “Oh how sad. So very sorry for her family. Prayers for her friends and family.”
The third one shared, “Prayers for all who know and love her, Prayers for all who searched for her and found her.” The fourth user added, “Praying for her family, that they somehow manage to find a sense of peace over the coming weeks.”
