Vladimir Duthiers revealed his wife Maria Wang's wedding was derailed due to the Covid-19 pandemic

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: While summer is slowing down a bit for TV productions as crew members and hosts break for vacations it's some well-deserved break from the screen for them. 'CBS Mornings' host Vladimir Duthiers is one of the TV personalities who took time off for a family vacation in Paris.

While he had been posting pictures of his memorable trip since last month, he only recently revealed that it was no ordinary summer vacation. Duthiers and his wife Maria Wang planned this makeup trip for when their wedding was severely affected by the Covid 19 pandemic. They traveled not only to Paris but also to Africa.

Like Duthier, his wife Wang is also active in the world of TV productions and talk shows. She has always worked in the field of journalism and eventually was able to take on major projects. Wang studied at Northwestern University and earned her bachelor's degree from the Medill School of Journalism. She began her career as a writer and blogger for numerous platforms including Business Insider, HuffPost, The Strategist and Marie Claire.

She joined the show 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' as a senior news producer in 2015. Wang met Duthiers in 2011 when the CBS host was still working for CNN. The two dated for nine years and eventually married in 2020. Wang and Duthiers recently welcomed their daughter, Celine.

After a few posts about his trip to Paris, Duthiers recently published another post with a rather long caption explaining the reasons for the trip. It turns out that it was not a random vacation, but a recovery wedding trip that he and Wang had originally planned for 2020. The caption reads, "It has been a few weeks since we returned from our once-in-a-lifetime family trip, and I’m finally getting around to posting some of the memories to the feed." He accompanied the post with a large collection of photos from their trip to France and South Africa with their extended families.

"Some of you may know that @mariancw and I were supposed to get married in September 2020 overlooking the raw natural beauty in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa on the iconic @andbeyondphinda private game reserve with our families there to witness it," the host's caption continued, "Well, we all know how 2020 turned out. We ended up having a small, low-key wedding at the beach. But last month, our dreams finally came to fruition. We gathered our family — parents, siblings, our 5-month-old Celine — along with dear friend @kiraktv, and we headed to Paris for a few days before traveling on to South Africa. And then…we were there…in the cradle of humanity, gazing at the magnificent African savanna surrounded by an incredible array of wildlife - with our loved ones at our side. Simply put - it was a magical, transcendental experience." He shared more snippets from the trip on his Instagram stories as well.
