LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Joanne Fluke took the world by storm with her cozy mystery series surrounding a small-town baker, Hannah Swensen. She has written more than 30 books in the ‘Hannah Swensen’ franchise and continues to be a force to be reckoned with. Hallmark has created six movies based on the aforementioned series and is set to enthrall viewers with a seventh film, titled ‘Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery,’ starring Alison Sweeney and Cameron Mathison in lead roles.
The movie tells the story of a heinous crime that takes place at Lake Eden and without any guesses, the entire community is shell-shocked when it is revealed that a skeleton has been discovered amid the rubble of a building undergoing renovation. Hannah Swensen (Sweeney) takes charge and starts investing the case on her own with some assistance from her husband and detective Mike Kingston (Mathison). As they begin to get more and more involved in the case, they realize how twisted the entire situation is.

Alison Sweeney as Hannah Swensen
Born on September 19, 1976, Alison Sweeney made quite an impact in the initial part of her acting career when she got a chance to make an appearance in the award-winning show ‘Days of Our Lives’. She went on to give superlative performances through different time periods of the show and garnered a lot of recognition. Sweeney was nominated for 2 Daytime Emmys for her role in the series and won six Soap Opera Digest Awards during her tenure.
Apart from that, she is a frequent collaborator with Hallmark and has appeared in almost 25 movies that have been created by the network.
Cameron Mathison as Mike Kingston
Just like Sweeney, her co-star Cameron Mathison requires no introduction. He made his acting debut in 1997 with the TV movie ‘Any Mother’s Son’ and went on to garner his first major acting role on TV in 1998 when he was cast as Ryan Lavery in the ABC series ‘All My Children’. He played the role for 13 years and received a lot of recognition for her impeccable acting. Since then, he has been a part of several high-end productions such as ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, ‘Hope & Faith’, and ‘Desperate Housewives’.
Since 2013, Mathison has also frequently collaborated with Hallmark and appeared in 12 movies. ‘Carrot Cake Murder’ will be his 13th film with the aforementioned channel.

The iconic Barbara Niven will be reprising the role of Delores Swensen in ‘Carrot Cake Murder’ and fans can’t wait to see their favorite actor on the screen again. She has been a part of the entertainment industry for more than three decades now and has given several extraordinary performances. Since 2016, Niven has played pivotal roles in almost 20 Hallmark movies and has established herself as an icon among fans.
Other actors to feature in the movie include Gabriel Hogan (Norman Rhodes), Toby Levins (Bill Todd), Lisa Durupt (Andrea Todd), Garry Chalk (Mayor Bascomb) and Juliana Wimbles (Lisa Herman).
