LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When it comes to Spider-Man movies, whether it’s live-action or animated, the cast is always one of a kind. Usually, all A-list celebrities are cast in the movies from the franchise, and ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is no exception to that notion.
‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ revolves around Miles Morales’ newest adventure with Gwen Stacy as he travels across dimensions and faces the new supervillain, The Spot. Along with Morales, Stacy, and The Spot, several other characters will be a part of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’, especially considering the fact that this movie is all about Spider-People aka the variants. While not every variant will have an important role or a lot of screen time, it will still be a lot more in comparison to the 2018 movie, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’.
Shameik Moore
Moore will be reprising his role as Miles Morales in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’. Although Moore is best known for voicing Morales in this franchise, his career trajectory is quite impressive. He has been a part of series' like ‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’ and ‘The Get Down’ along with movies including ‘Cut Throat City’ and ‘Let It Snow’. Moore brings a sense of familiarity and fun when it comes to playing the role of Morales.
Hailee Steinfeld
Along with Moore, Steinfeld will also be making a comeback in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ as none other than Gwen Stacy. This isn’t Steinfeld’s only run with Marvel, as she also plays the role of Kate Bishop in the ‘Hawkeye’ series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. These two roles have no connection whatsoever. You can also find Steinfeld in movies like ‘True Grit’ and ‘The Edge of Seventeen’.
Jake Johnson
Fan-favorite Johnson will be returning in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ as Peter B Parker. He has established a name for himself by playing the role of Nick Miller in the popular TV series 'New Girl’. While everyone is thrilled about the newcomers in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’, there’s almost a sense of comfort when it comes to actors and actresses reprising their roles, especially when it's connected to the nostalgia of a character like Peter Parker.
Oscar Isaac
Isaac's name briefly appeared in 2018's ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ in the end credits as Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099. His role in the end credit scene was a hint enough that he will be playing an important role in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’. Much like Steinfeld, this isn’t Isaac’s first bout with Marvel, in fact, it’s his third. Isaac has previously appeared in ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ and ‘Moonknight’.
Jason Schwartzman
Schwartzman will be playing the role of the main supervillain in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ The Spot. Schwartzman is best known for appearing in the majority of Wes Anderson’s films, including ‘Asteroid City’ which is set to release in 2023. It will be interesting to see or rather hear Schwartzman voice a supervillain.
Other cast members of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’
The cast list for ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is vast, and several actors and actresses have given their voices to the characters of this superhero movie. Rounding up the cast, we have Daniel Kaluuya, Brian Tyree Henry, Karan Soni, Lauren Vélez, and Andy Samberg.
