Cyra Rose Thoeming's mother, Jafria Thornburg, has not been charged, but an investigation has been launched by the Yavapai County Sheriff's Department

COTTONWOOD, ARIZONA: Cyra Rose Thoeming, a 13-month-old child, tragically died on Thursday, July 6, after her mother inadvertently struck her while moving her car outside the family home in Cottonwood, 100 miles north of Phoenix. The investigators reported that Cyra's mother, Jafria Thornburg, was parking her car outside the house when she took the toddler out of the vehicle while still strapped to her car seat.

Jafria then reportedly proceeded to place the child in a gravel-covered area, where she believed her daughter would be safe, before trying to get the automobile out of a small space, according to the police. However, the accident occurred when the car seat's canopy became tangled in the front tire, leading to it falling into the path of the moving vehicle, as reported by Daily Mail.

'It didn't matter how you felt, she would make your day better'

"While repositioning the vehicle, the front tire caught the canopy of the car seat, causing it to fall backward which led to the infant suffering critical injuries," read a statement from the sheriff's office. Little Cyra was immediately rushed to Verde Valley Medical Center in severe condition after Jafria hurriedly dialed 911. Even though doctors performed desperate life-saving measures, the child died. The mother has not been charged, but the Yavapai County Sheriff's Department's Criminal Investigations Bureau has launched an investigation into the accident.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by Thomas Warren, Cyra's uncle, to support her family and cover funeral costs. The initiative has already raised more than $11,532 of the $10,400 goal at the time of writing. According to the GoFundMe page, Cyra was born on May 16, 2022, and died on July 6 as a result of a dreadful "tragic automobile accident." "There isn't anyone who didn't smile their biggest after spending just a moment with her. It didn't matter how you felt, she would make your day better," the campaign description reads. On the morning of Saturday, July 8, Cyra's father, Michael Thoeming, posted an update to the fundraiser's page, expressing gratitude towards everyone who supported the family during the tough time.

'My every waking moment is dedicated to being the man that you made me'

"She was a living miracle and reminded me, my spouse, and all she came in contact with that the love of God and the goodness of heaven are often with us here on Earth in the form of a person," Michael wrote. He even vowed to continue "carrying" their daughter in their hearts forever. "Though I've lost you here on earth. I will follow the path that will lead me back to you one day. I will always be your Father which is the greatest title I have ever held in this life. My every waking moment is dedicated to being the man that you made me. I love you, Cyra Rose. Forever," Michael had written in a separate Facebook post on Friday, July 7. On the other hand, Cyra's grandmother emotionally stated that the toddler "left an indelible impression on everyone who met her" in a social media post.
