Alice Cooper, the legendary rock star and frontman of the ‘Hollywood Vampires’, has revealed something about his bandmate Johnny Depp

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alice Cooper, the legendary rock star and frontman of the ‘Hollywood Vampires’, has revealed something about his bandmate Johnny Depp.

He said that he did not talk to him about the latter’s defamation trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard while they were on tour.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial

Cooper said he “never watched a moment of” the live-televised Virginia trial that ended with a verdict in favour of Depp on June 1, 2023.

The trial was a result of a lawsuit filed by Depp against Heard for her 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post, where she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse.

Depp denied the allegations and accused Heard of being the abuser. The court found Heard liable for defamation and ordered her to pay Depp $1 million in damages.

Alice Cooper says there was no hesitancy to tour with Johnny Depp

Cooper, 75 told Vulture in an interview that he did not feel any “hesitancy” to tour with Depp, who was also busy with another project as a director.

He said that Depp treated the trial as “something that happened” and did not let it affect his performance as a guitar player.

“He was just like, ‘Yeah, yeah, what’s the next song?’ For Johnny, it was one of those things where … you can’t say it got blown out of proportion, but I don’t know why they would televise the proceedings, right?”

Cooper said. “It’s because of the fame of both people.”

Alice Cooper says Amber Heard's trial was never mentioned because 'nobody cared'

Cooper added that he did not follow the trial at all and was confident that Depp would win, given the support he received from his other exes.

He also said that the trial was “such a Hollywood thing” and that he and his bandmates did not care about it.

“I don’t think it was ever mentioned on the tour because nobody cared. I never watched a moment of the trials,” he said. “It was so blown out of proportion. It was such a Hollywood thing.”

Depp celebrated his 60th birthday with Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen in Istanbul, Turkey, where they performed as part of their summer tour across Europe and the U.S.

A source told PEOPLE that Depp was “really prioritizing his health in this phase of his life” and that he had “everything in moderation”. The Hollywood Vampires concluded their tour with a show in Bethel, New York, on July 30.
