Fans say 'how predictable' as the trailer for new TV special ‘TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom’ releases

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears is in the news again! As a new trailer for a TV production about her life post-conservatorship came out on Monday, May 8, fans have started commenting on how the timing of the release of the program was “so predictable." As the conservatorship of ‘Princess of Pop’ ended one and a half years ago, the production will chronicle her life after that. In November 2021, the conservatorship of the ‘Hold Me Closer’ crooner ended.

The TV special named, ‘TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom’ opens with the executive producer Harvey Levin narrating, “Britney Spears has had a year and a half of freedom since the conservatorship ended, but there are big problems.” The trailer further had clippings where TMZ’s managing editor, Fabian Garcia, could be heard saying that Spears “got physical with Sam.” Levin was heard saying her marriage with Sam Ashgari is in “deep trouble.”

The program primarily aims to give her fans an insight into Spears' life. TMZ executive producer, Charles Latibeaudiere, also claimed in the 30-second video, that Spears’ behavior was “alarming” and advised them to “keep knives away from her.” TV doc Drew Pinsky commented, “I’m mortified.”

However the trailer also said that there is some "hope" as in terms of her career and performance, she was “probably still in the top five people.” ‘The Price of Freedom’ will be aired on Monday, May 15 on Fox at 9 pm ET.

‘Framing Britney Spears’

The latest documentary almost becomes a follow-up to the 2021 television documentary titled, ‘The New York Times Presents: Framing Britney Spears’ which chronicled her conservatorship from 2008 when her father, James ‘Jamie’ Spears, was made her conservator, that is, the person responsible for the musician’s legal, financial and personal decisions.

The 74-minute long documentary detailed how the ‘Oops!… I Did It Again’ singer was placed under conservatorship and she filed for a petition to remove her father from the position and hand over the management of her estate to the bank. Lastly, it also showed footage of fans protesting in the #FreeBritney movement and demanding the court to deliver her justice. The documentary was aired on FX and FX on Hulu.

'They are so predictable'

As the trailer dropped, fans were nothing but shocked at the predictability. One fan commented, "They are so predictable. Court in a few days. Shocking." Another was found saying, "Premiering on May 15? That’s right in between the two court hearings this month they are so predictable." The third user said the same, "Court is two days away! Right on schedule!!!" Someone else said, "As usual, days before court hearings they do this. No one believes her c*ap."

As one fan commented, "I mean her Ig is unhingedddddddd Love her but a bit concerning," the comment section became quite busy. As one user replied, "It’s concerning that not a single person who trafficked, embezzled& abused her for nigh on 15yrs is being held accountable. NYT called the police& feds &they confirmed that no criminal case is open. Strange considering her testimony, no? It’s convenient her insta looks how it does."
