Rex Heuermann pleaded not guilty to Gilgo Beach murder charges

LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK: Alleged Gilgo Beach murderer's wife loved planning vacations and comic book conventions. According to the Twitter handle attributed to the name Asa Ellerup, she hated cold weather and shopping in large crowds.

The Twitter account goes by the user name '@ElvenMaiden' which seemed to be a video game character that claims the user is based in Long Island, New York. She did not post any tweets during the time the victims were reported missing and did not join the platform until November 2009.

'The mall is a nightmare'

Ellerup's tweets expressed her deep interest in comic books, comic con conventions, and vacations. "Wow, spring is creeping up fast! Time to plan a summer vacation. Now where to go, hmm, within the US sounds good. Ideas anyone?," read her tweet from February 2010 while another tweet from April 2010 read, "Met Christopher Golden at Boston Comic Con. Awesome. Now it looks like they are going to move that convention to the convention center next."

She apparently hated snow or cold weather despite her Icelandic heritage. "Didn’t get too much snow this time, I’m not in the mood to shovel snow, but it is cold outside,” the Twitter user wrote in February 2010. "It snowed, got 13 inches. Don’t like when others don’t move vehicles when the plow is coming [sic]. I always get more snow to shovel," she updated the same month.

Explaining how much she hated shopping in larger crowds, she wrote in December 2009, "Ugg. The mall is a nightmare, much worse than Black Friday. Will the madness ever end? Time for online shopping. Amazon here I come,” she said on December 7, 2009.

Ellerup took to Twitter to share she had a car accident at the start of 2010. "Car accidents are no fun. Nor is having the flu too. Happy New Year Everyone. cheers to 2010," she wrote in January 2010. Her last tweets were in April 2010.

Is Ellerup suspected of any involvement with the killings?

Ellerup’s husband Rex Heuermann was taken into custody on Thursday as he is suspected to be the murderer in the long-unsolved serial killings of three women which the investigators claim is a breakthrough in the 13-year hunt for the killer. However, Ellerup is not suspected to have any involvement in the killings.

Heuermann pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder charges in the grisly murders of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello. He is also considered the prime suspect in the death of another of the so-called 'Gilgo Four' who was identified as Maureen Brainard-Barnes, according to New York Post.
