'Ezra wants the movie to open and the conversation to be about the movie and not about Ezra,' a source said

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Andy Muschietti's 'The Flash' is set to release on Friday, June 16, and the launch of the 2023 action/adventure film hasn't been standard. Ezra Miller, the movie's titular star, hasn't done any press with just 13 days till its release, and he'll make a low-key appearance at the Los Angeles premiere on June 12 instead of giving any interviews or conducting any other type of public interaction.

The film's director, Muschietti, will walk the red carpet without the usual press queue along with Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, and Michael Shannon. Warner Bros will soon be releasing 'The Flash', the latest DC film, without any promotional materials from the star, Miller, who has been at the center of controversy due to arrests and unpredictable behavior. According to Variety, Miller is now doing fine after obtaining therapy for mental health difficulties.

Has Ezra Miller been stopped from promoting 'The Flash'?

Four days prior to the movie's release, Warner Bros. made the unusual decision to host just one premiere. However, the report claims that this choice was made more so to protect the "secret ending" than to address Miller's controversy-related issues. A significant portion of the climax scene was cut from the April CinemaCon screening, and the movie finished somewhat unceremoniously. The main plot points of the film have been obscured, even at recent viewing in Burbank.

The entertainment company has also been proactive with promoting by playing the movie's trailer frequently at NHL and NBA playoffs, making up for Ezra Miller's lack of publicity during The Flash promos. They are also holding screenings of The Flash without Ezra Miller in major cities. Michael Keaton will introduce the event in London, and Muschetti will host events in Madrid, Sao Paolo, Toronto, Buenos Aires, and Miami. The movie's director, Muschiettes, will also attend the premiere of 'The Flash' with the other cast members sans the press throng. However, Michael Keaton and Jason Momoa will be unable to attend the premiere due to movie shoots in London and New Zealand, respectively, as per reports.

'They are focused on their mental health'

A $190 million tentpole star typically promotes the movie in print, TV, and frequently podcast interviews that air in different parts of the world. According to reports, Miller wants 'The Flash' to start a dialogue about the film rather than their mental health. "Ezra wants the movie to open and the conversation to be about the movie and not about Ezra," a rep close to Miller stated. He added, "They are focused on their mental health and don’t want it to be transactional."
