Heidi Montag's heart rate dropped to 5 beats per minute due to an incorrect dosage of opioid painkiller Demerol during her plastic surgery recovery

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Heidi Montag, with a reported net worth of $2 million, recently shared details about her challenging recovery journey following 10 simultaneous plastic surgeries in a new interview.

'The Hills' star revealed that her surgeon initially told her the recovery would last just a few months, but it ultimately extended to over a year. At one point immediately after the surgeries, she even faced a life-threatening situation.

Heidi Montag recalls 'part of my chin sawed off'

"At the time, my surgeon was like, 'Oh, it will be a quick recovery, a few months.' And it took me over a year to heal, so I could barely talk [with] my jaw," she said in a recent episode of Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast.

"I just had part of my chin sawed off. It was really a lot just dealing with that. They called (husband) Spencer [Pratt] at a point and told him I had died basically. I wasn’t doing well. We had to have nurses at the house for months to help me recover," she added.

Montag disclosed that her heart rate dropped to just five beats per minute after she was reportedly administered an incorrect dosage of the opioid painkiller Demerol during her recovery from plastic surgery.

She said at the time, "My security guards called Spencer and told him, ‘Heidi’s heart stopped. She’s not going to make it.’ And I easily could’ve. Cutting yourself up isn’t something I’d recommend, and Demerol isn’t anything to play around with. That’s how Michael Jackson died."

Heidi Montag's reported net worth is approximately $2 million, per CA Knowledge.

What 10 surgeries did Heidi have?

Montag, 37, underwent a series of surgeries when she was 23 years old, which included a nose job, chin reduction, updated breast augmentation, rhinoplasty revision, brow lift, liposuction, butt augmentation, facial fat injections, botox and ear pinning.

The cost of plastic surgery procedures in the US can vary considerably depending on the specific surgery, the surgeon's experience, and other factors.

In the California at that time, the cost of common plastic surgery procedures varied significantly. Rhinoplasty (nose job) could range from $5,000 to $15,000 or even more.

Breast augmentation typically fell within the range of $5,000 to $10,000. Liposuction costs varied, with starting prices at around $2,000 per treated area.

Brow lifts were priced between $3,000 and $8,000. Chin reductions had a similar price range, typically ranging from $3,000 to $8,000.

Ear pinning surgery (otoplasty) could cost between $3,000 and $5,000. Facial fat injections were estimated to range from $2,000 to $4,000, making the total cost of these procedures all together to be between $21,200 and $52,000.

These figures provide a general idea of the expenses associated with these procedures. Prices may have changed now and health insurance typically does not cover cosmetic procedures.

Montag revealed that her post-operative recovery was so challenging that it prevented her from returning to MTV's 'The Hills' during that time.

"I wasn’t even in a place [to film]. And I kept saying, ‘I’m not a person right now. I need to heal and recover and I’m not doing well physically.’ Like, I’m not able to show up like I was," she explained.

"I thought I’d bounce back and be able to be on TV like I was after my first cosmetic surgery," she said, referring to the nose job and boob job she had undergone the year before the 10 surgeries.

"But there was just way too much done and each thing took too much time and it hurt so bad. I was just in such an immense amount of pain."

Montag also revealed that she required nursing assistance at home for several months during her recovery. She explained, "So we’re dealing with that and then we have these producers like, 'Say this and that.' And we’re like, 'We can’t do this.'"
