Tom Hiddleston suggests Loki's possible return, much to the joy of netizens

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The final episode of the second season of Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, was released on November 9 for audiences to stream across the globe.

The series drew the arc of Loki Laufeyson, the god of mischief in the MCU, to a close in a heart-rending finale that had him make the ultimate sacrifice, rivaling and according to some, even greater than that of Iron Man in 'Avengers: Endgame'.

From starting out as a villain in the 2011 film 'Thor,' Loki transformed into the single most important character in the Marvel Cinematic 'Multiverse' in a heart-rending finale, that left fans loving the character more than ever.

Loki lead writer said there were no plans for Season 3

Eric Martin, the lead writer for the series, told Cinemablend that the writers had scripted Loki with two seasons in mind, and there were no plans for a third season at the moment.

"We approached this as like two halves of a book. Season one, first half. Season two, we close the book on Loki and the TVA. Where it goes beyond that, I don't know. I just wanted to tell a full and complete story across those two seasons."

Executive producer Kevin Wright previously told Deadline, "We take it season by season, and there are certainly things that Tom and I and other casts have talked about of where we see this going, and I know there's some excitement for that internally."

"But just from a storytelling standpoint, I think we always conceived of seasons one and two as a whole. That these are two chapters of the same book, and that season two is finishing that book, and there are other stories to be told there, but I think they would be new books, if that's not too coy," he added.

Tom Hiddleston says bidding adieu to Loki is not yet 'conclusive'

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Hiddleston reportedly said, "I have at least twice in my life said goodbye. I've written to Kevin Feige and Louis de Esposito and Victoria Alonso and been like, 'Thank you so much. It's been like the role of a lifetime,' and they've written notes back saying, 'Come and see us anytime. You're always part of the family. We're always here. You've given us so much and tears have been shared.' So I think I'd be unwise at this point to be conclusive about any of it."

On being asked how his character might encounter Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, in the MCU, in the probable future, Hiddleston stated, "I think both Thor and Loki have had to excavate and analyze the past and who they feel they really are and what they really want."

"But what's interesting about family as well, this is just me thinking about it, is sometimes it will be difficult to let go of the preconception of who they used to be. Loki might be expecting Thor to behave in a certain way or be a certain way. Thor might be expecting Loki to be a certain way," he continued.

"So I think initially it would be really confusing, but also they'd been apart for a long time, and no doubt they've been objects in each other's mind. And so yeah, I think I wonder (what) a reunion would likely be, we'll see."
