Jackson Mahomes, the brother of Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, is facing sexual battery charges. The woman who accused him reportedly had to shut down her restaurant due to threats of violence.

About three months ago, Jackson Mahomes was arrested over sexual battery allegations. Those charges have yet to go to court, but the accuser is already feeling the impact. Per the New York Post, the woman who accused Mahomes has shut down her restaurant business and fears for her safety.

"It's hard to own a company and go through everything that we've gone through," Stephanie Lopez, an administrative employee of the restaurant, told the Kansas City Star. "We were so close to making it, and then this whole thing happened."

Per the New York Post, Aspen Vaughn (the woman who accused Mahomes) has seen her sales drop dramatically after making said allegations:

"Vaughn told the Star that her sales had declined by 75 percent after the accusations became public, and that she suspected someone vandalized the restaurant by cutting its air conditioning connections, damaging natural gas lines and causing water damage by pulling the fire alarm."

She also fears for her safety outside of the restaurant, and the threats have not made matters easier.

"I feel like definitely, since it's occurred, my safety is definitely at risk," Vaughn said. "I'm feeling attacked by people I've never met. Why do victims not come forward? It's because this is how they get treated."

It should be noted that the Mahomes family has nothing to do with said threats, nor do they encourage it. Jackson's attorney maintains his innocence as he awaits trial.

"Jackson has done nothing wrong," the attorney said. "Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson's accuser including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter."

Mahomes next hearing is set for Aug, 31.
