The accuser alleged Nick Carter sexually assaulted her in 2003 on a yacht and later on a bus after getting her drunk

CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA: Nick Carter has reportedly denied accusations of sexual assault by a woman in a recent lawsuit about a purported incident from 2003 when she was 15 and he was 23.

As per TMZ's review of court documents, the woman, who did not identify herself, alleged that the Backstreet Boys vocalist sexually assaulted her on a yacht and subsequently on a bus after getting her drunk.

Sexual assault allegations against Nick Carter dropped over lack of evidence

According to Carter's attorney, Dale Hayes Jr, the woman had previously reported her accusations to law enforcement in 2003.

Hayes stated that law enforcement had not gathered enough evidence during their investigation of the reported incident to bring charges against Carter.

He claimed that the woman accusing Carter was "repeating the same false allegations in a new legal complaint," and emphasized that this repetition "doesn’t make them any more true."

Carter is facing allegations of sexual assaults from two other women in separate lawsuits.

Melissa Schuman

Earlier in 2023, Carter was accused by singer Melissa Schuman of sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit involving an alleged incident in 2002 in Santa Monica, California.

Schuman, 38, claimed that when she was 18 and Carter was 22, he compelled her to engage in oral sex against her will, even though she expressed her intentions to wait until marriage for such experiences.

Schuman had previously filed a police report against Carter over five years ago, but no legal action was taken at the time.

Schuman filed the lawsuit to have the case reviewed by a judge using a new California law that allowed the statute of limitations to be lifted for civil actions, while Carter has consistently denied all allegations.

Shannon Ruth

In December 2022, Shannon Ruth, 39, who has autism and cerebral palsy, filed a lawsuit.

She claimed that Carter raped her in 2001 when she was just 17, on the band's tour bus after a show in Tacoma, Washington, during their 'Black & Blue' tour.

Ruth's lawsuit also accused Carter of sexual misconduct with three other women identified as Jane Does, one of whom was 15 years old.

Carter vehemently denied all these allegations. He alleged that Ruth has been coached by Schuman and her father, Jerome, stating it was part of a long-standing conspiracy.

Carter further accused the trio of exploiting the #MeToo movement and using his late brother, Aaron, to extort money from him.

Aaron was found dead at 34 in November 2022, at his home in Lancaster, California. An autopsy showed he drowned in his bathtub after taking Xanax.

Nick Carter counter-sues his accusers

In February, Carter counter-sued Ruth in a $2.3M lawsuit, saying she had been "manipulated" by Schuman, as per Rolling Stone.

Carter's lawyer, Liane K Wakayama, told TMZ, "Melissa Schuman has been peddling this tale for many years, but her allegation was false when she first made it back in 2017 - and it still is."

Wakayama told the outlet that "a judge in Nevada recently ruled, after reviewing the extensive evidence we laid out, that there are strong grounds for Nick Carter to proceed with his lawsuit against Ms. Schuman for plotting to damage, defame and extort Nick, his associates, his friends and his family."
